MEMPRO provides industrial wide temperature solutions for its full range of NVMe SSD for engineering applications. Because the systems are compact, a certain amount of heat is generated on the controller and NAND flash during high-speed transmissions, so our extended temperature (-25~85°C) and industrial wide temperature (-40~85°C) solutions are a perfect fit for special environmental temperature conditions. Below are some thermal control heat resistance, cooling, and heat dissipation methods to ensure effective heat dissipation and operational reliability of your NVMe SSDs.

(1) Thermal Sensor
MEMXPRO storage products have built-in thermal sensors. The storage device monitoring tool mSMART is able to detect real-time temperature changes. With thermal throttling techniques, the controller will manage and protect the system if temperatures increase to certain levels.

(2) High Thermal Conductive Materials
U.2 PCIe SSD has a bigger PCB area to dissipate heat, so MEMXPRO’s U.2 PCIe SSDs use high thermal conductive substrates to provide efficient heat removal and can withstand higher temperatures.

(3) Thermal Throttling
To ensure SSDs operate within temperature limits, MEMXPRO applies multi-stage intelligent thermal throttling technology for NVMe SSDs to prevent sudden performance drops caused by overheating.

(4) Thermal Pad / Heatsink
For fanless embedded systems, thermal silicone pads transfer heat from hot areas onto the metal chassis of the system. This can effectively reduce thermal contact resistance and temperature with different softness and thickness for your choice. Aluminum alloy heatsinks with silicone thermal pads are designed especially for high-end motherboards of fan-based host computers. The cooling efficiency varies depending on the environment. Most heat sink manufacturers claim that surface temperatures can decrease by 5~30°C.

More Information Although AIMobile values the high performance of NVMe products, they were worried that the equipment would heat up too easily. So after extensive 72-hour burn-in tests, results proved that MEMXPRO's SSDs were able to survive the harshest conditions that most other memory products couldn't, so naturally they chose MEMXPRO M.2 2280 PCIe PT33.
